I thought it might be nice to post here every Friday on what I did the previous week, both for my readers (reader, maybe) and for myself…
- Notre Dame Philosophical Reviews published a review of The Thief of Time: Philosophical Essays on Procrastination; see the review here and my write-up on it here.
- I wrote quite a bit for my Psychology Today blog: three posts on self-loathing, Loving Others without Loving Yourself: A Reconsideration (July 5), How a Person Can Make His or Her Partner Feel Worthless without Even Trying (July 6), and Why It's So Difficult to Love People Who Don't Love Themselves (July 8), and one on monogamy, Married without Infidelities: Speaking Up for Monogamy (July 3).
- The aforementioned PT post on monogamy was reprinted at The Good Men Project, for which I hope to do more writing in the near future (and which will be reprinted elsewhere in a couple weeks)–it really seems to have hit a nerve, which is very gratifying.
- I blogged a fair bit at Economics and Ethics: my favorites are probably Yes, of course health insurance improves health, but… (July 7) and Why hasn't social economics focused more on the family? (July 4).
- I highlighted a fantastic blog post on Catman, Batman, and Dexter (the Showtime character) by Carol Borden of The Cultural Gutter at The Comics Professor.
- Finally, I had my first official meetings with my dean and provost as chair of my department (Political Science, Economics, and Philosophy) at the College of Staten Island. Wish me luck!
Well, for a week that didn't seem very productive–I certainly made no progress on any of my current book projects–I guess it wasn't that bad. Hope to have some book progress to report next week…
