  • Well, well… The Source brings us news of four more Gotham-related titles, all featuring female characters, though many are a mystery: Batwoman #1, by the familiar team of J.H. Williams III, Haden Blackman, and Amy Reeder Batgirl #1, featuring the ominously red-headed character already famous from sneak peeks, written by Gail Simone with art by…

  • In an exclusive interview at IGN, Batman group editor Mike Marts reveals some more of the plans for the Bat-characters post-Flashpoint: As reported earlier, Bruce Wayne as the only Batman and starring in Batman #1 and Detective Comics #1 Dick Grayson future to be revealed later today (presumably as Nightwing, h/t Bleeding Cool) Damian stays…

  • Hallelujah. The Source just reported that Bruce Wayne will be the one and only Batman following the events of Flashpoint, and the teams on the two flagship books will be Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo on Batman #1 and Tony Daniels (writing and pencilling) on Detective Comics #1 (see here for the covers).

  • Courtesy of Bleeding Cool, here are two absolutely wonderful Batman covers by Jock and Greg Capullo apossibly for the new #1's of Detective Comics and Batman, respectively. (Oh, how it hurts to type that, especially since Batman obviously wasn't even in the original Detective Comics #1.) (Click to get the full-size versions, and enjoy!)

  • In yesterday's post, I lamented the impending radical reboot of the DCU. Let me be Mr. Positive now, and list a few things I would do, had I the power, to simplify the DCU and bring it "back to basics" without (potentially) reversing years of continuity: 1. Mostly restore the pre-"Batman R.I.P." status quo in…

  • Superman #710, written by Chris Roberson with pencils by Eddy Barrows and Travis Foreman, reads like one of the best issues of Superman/Batman (to be honest, I don't know if there's been an issue of that title better than this, even Roberson's issues), right down to the alternating dialogue and the heartfelt discussion between the two at…

  • Newsarama has a feature article on a session at the Comics Arts Conference which took place "within" WonderCon this year. Titled "Life After Trauma: To Be A Superhero Or Supervillain," the session featured my good friend Dr. Robin Rosenberg (editor of The Psychology of Superheroes), as well as Dr. Travis Langely and Andrea Letamendi. From the…

  • In a Comic Book Resources interview previewing his upcoming run  on Batman and Robin, featuring the return of Jason Todd (the Red Hood), Judd Winick is asked about writing Dick Grayson in costume as Batman: Newsarama: In your head, is Dick Grayson as Batman a different character than Dick Grayson as Nightwing? Winick: Oh yeah. It's…

  • Scott Snyder and Francesco Francavilla offer up another fantastic issue of Detective Comics with today's issue 874, continuing the re-introduction of James Gordon Jr. in a tantalizing discussion with his father, while also exploring the aftermath of Dick's exposure to the Dealer's hallucinogenic gas in the previous story arc. There are many intriguing elements to…

  • According to a new interview with Dan Didio at Comic Book Resources–or, more precisely, a sneak-peak at the cover of Outsiders #40–Batman (Bruce Wayne, that is) will be returning to the Outsiders, though on what basis is still up in the air. This is could be a(nother) perfect forum to showcase the Batman Incorporated concept, of…
